Holy smokes it has seriously been a year since I posted anything here! I am the absolute worst! My life is by no means the most entertaining for people to read about but I sure do love reading friends so hopefully they feel the same about mine :) So much has happened to our family in the past year (good and bad) it is hard to find a starting place. Some of the biggest events is Kennidi, my Dad and the rest of my family! Kennidi has grown up so much in the past year and a half I can hardly believe it! She has really turned into a little girl wanting baby dolls and tea sets, I just love her! Some of her favorites right now are Elmo, Coke (thanks to my Dad), going to The Little gym, swimming, gymnastics, and playing with her baby cousin Zuri. She is so soft with Zuri and the puppies, all she wants to do is hug them! Her favorite people in the whole wide world are Mommy, Daddy, Yia Yia and Papa (she came up with those names on her own).
Around the middle of January my Dad got really sick with a saddled blood clot in his lungs. Not to get all technical with medical words but he was in super bad shape, in fact he was lucky that he survived! He was in the ICU for about 4 days and a regular hospital room for another 3 days before he got to go home. Seeing him laying in the ICU and not being able to move bc they didn't want another blood clot to break off, was the worst feeling in the world! He is my Dad, how could something like this happen to him? He is so healthy and nothing like this ever happens to him! Well in all reality it does happen and it happens to more people than you think. All I had to remember was, he is alive! He survived! He is still here with us! We are so lucky to have him here and on the road to recovery!
Fast forward to March, I got a phone call from my Mom saying that my Uncle Dave had just passed away. What?!? This isn't right! Uncle Dave was also such a strong, happy, healthy wonderful man, why is this happening?!?!? Uncle Dave was diagnosed with a brain tumor August of 2010 and unfortunately lost his battle in March of 2012. The last time I saw Uncle Dave was the first time Kennidi met him. SHE LOVED HIM!! She would sit on his lap and not cry bc she didn't know him, nope, she sat there and stared at him. We have had so many fun and wonderful memories with Uncle Dave and my Aunt and cousins, he is greatly missed!! Kennidi still remembers and loves him, yep, its true! There are a few pictures on Facebook of Uncle Dave holding Kennidi and she knows exactly how to get to them on my phone. She goes to the one of Uncle Dave holding her and says, "Mama look!" I then ask her who that is, and no she doesn't tell me so I tell her, "That is Uncle Dave and he loves you!" she agrees and keeps staring. I love it!
Ok so now comes May, my baby niece Zuri is born on May 10, 2012. She is adorable and Phia just loves her! After a few trips down to AZ to see them Scott, MaryClaire, Zuri, Daisy, Dandy, Dilly and Dusty decide to move to Utah! They are here, bought a home in Suncrest and are doing great!
October 2012 comes, Dad isn't feeling too well so he goes into the doctor...ANOTHER BLOOD CLOT IN HIS LUNGS! ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME?!?!?!?!? Ok we were so ready for that year to be over! People say bad things come in 3's right? (Dad, Uncle Dave, Dad again) we're done! This time my Dad wasn't in the ICU which was great! He had to stay in the hospital for about a week and was sent home. Because having another blood clot, he will be on Coumadin for the rest of his life. Ok, we can handle this!
WHEW! What a year we had!! So far this year is going really well. We went on a Disneyland trip, my cousin Macey got engaged to Jeff, Anthony got a new great job and we are just loving having family around us, oh and of course Phia. She is just too funny! Oh and I will blog more :)
